Lucky sevens! If you are a superstitious person, then today is the day to gamble. (I am not really superstitious in case you were wondering.) A day like this won’t come around for another 100 years. I don’t know about you, but I am fairly certain that I won’t be around.
Bang, Bang, You’re Dead
I know the title of this post is unusual. Actually, it’s the title of a film. (Well, it’s really a film about– not based on– a play. You’ll understand when you see it.) If you haven’t seen it, you should. I have seen the film several times. It’s powerful– powerful. You can read more about it here or here. You can purchase it here.
I highly recommend you watch this film, especially if you have middle school or high school aged children. See what life is like through Trevor’s eyes (and Josh’s). You will remember it forever.
Snakes on a Plane
The title of my post is just as to the point as the title of the film Snakes on a Plane. It’s snakes… on a plane. That is about the only non-interesting aspect of the movie. Too be short and to the point, IT ROCKS!! I have never seen a Samuel L. Jackson movie that I didn’t like, and Snakes on a Plane was no exception.
I did not take Becky for obvious reasons, and I highly discourage you from going or taking anyone if you or that someone is afraid of snakes.
After all, it is snakes… on a plane.
Oliver Stone finally got one right
Becky and I just got home from watching Oliver Stone’s World Trade Center. Wow. I have sat through many of Oliver Stone’s films through the years, and, on many occasions, I pondered walking out. I often disagree with how Mr. Stone turns darn near anything into a political statement. (Remember Any Given Sunday?) In my opinion, he overdoes it. That is not the case with World Trade Center. It was a wonderful film! I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house.
Many critics have said “It’s just too early” or “It’s not the right time.” What?! I am from the school that America needs not forget– no matter what! If we ever– ever– let our guard down again, we subject ourselves to another such horrific attack. I know I speak for all other Americans in saying that I never what to witness such an event ever again.
Thank you, Mr. Stone, and very well done. Oh, in case you didn’t pick up on it, I highly recommend World Trade Center.
I wanna go fast!
Becky and I just got back from watching Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Although I did enjoy the film, I do know my IQ dropped a few points having watching it. I don’t care. It was worth it. Now, if you don’t mind, I am going to go to sleep.
PS: This post’s title only really makes sense to those who have seen the film, so don’t worry; I have not totally lost my mind.
