Back to the grindstone… kinda
School starts back tomorrow. That really doesn’t mean jack to me, because I work year-round anyway. I just felt compelled to tell you.
On another note, we are beginning the interview process for a new computer tech at work. If you or someone you know has at least a two-year degree or several years experience in the IT field and is looking for a job, check out our website for more info.
Catch ya later folks. I am off to bed, because tomorrow is gonna be bats. The first day of school always is.
The beginning of the end
Tomorrow morning, I have to be at work at 6:00. We have to load up half of the laptops to take to Cullman Middle School. We have to repeat the process Thurday. I don’t mind all that much. I am just glad to start the process of getting them out of our offices! The beginning of the end (for now) is here!
I am off to bed. 4:45 is right around the corner. That is going to SUCK. All I have to do, until next year, at least, is make it though this week… God be with me!
Postin’ & workin’
As I am writing this message, I have another dozen Dell Latitude D510 laptops being cloned behind me. It’s a long and tedious process, but it’s nearing its end. By tomorrow, all 583 laptops will be complete. (Too bad there are 25 more on the way… jeez!)
All that is left is going back to the 480+ laptops that have not been assigned and assign them to a specific user. In a nutshell, there is still a long way to go. Having said that, I guess I should shut up and get back to work.
I hate laptops
There once was a time when I loved opening new “techy” things, especially laptops. Sadly, that has changed. For those of you who don’t know, my employer, Cullman City Schools, is implementing a 1:1 Laptop Initiative that will supply all 7th and 8th graders at Cullman Middle School with a Dell Latitude D510 laptop. That is the very reason I now HATE laptops. Yes, yes, yes, I know hate is such a strong word, but who do you think has to set up those 500 laptops? That’s right. Yours truly. If you had to do the SAME things to 500 laptops, day in and day out, I assure you that you, too, would loathe laptops. I have nothing more to say for now.
Wait, I do have one more thing to say! Becky has joined the MySpace cult, er, I mean community. Go check out her profile, add her as a friend, and tell her hi! ![]()
